Project Flight
Passenger Experience Upgrades
We are improving the customer experience inside our terminal with several upgrades and new amenities.
A new play space located at the Northern end of the terminal will provide an area for children and families to enjoy while waiting for their flight or meeting a loved one. It will include a covered slide, play areas inspired by the South Australian landscape and family dining areas.
We’re also excited to be creating a second play space in our international departures area—giving kids a chance to play, explore, and burn off some energy before their big adventure begins.
We’re building a sensory room to offer a peaceful retreat within our terminal for participants in our Hidden Disabilities program. We know airports can be busy, with unfamiliar sights and sounds—and we want Adelaide Airport to feel welcoming for everyone.
Our sensory room is designed as a quiet, low-stimulation space to support travellers with sensory sensitivities or disabilities, including autism, anxiety, and neurological conditions. It will feature calming lights, soft seating, tactile objects, and noise-reducing elements to help create a soothing environment away from the hustle and bustle.
Whether it’s a moment to relax, self-regulate, or simply take a break, we hope this space helps passengers feel more at ease before their journey.
Our gate lounge seating is being updated, including new chairs with access to charging points, integrated workspaces and facilitating a better flow of passengers to their boarding gate.
Works will be progressively undertaken so as to limit disruption to the operations of the airport and our passengers.
