Driver Requirements

To operate at Adelaide Airport as a taxi/rideshare/chauffeur driver, you must:

  • Hold the relevant driver accreditation issued by the South Australian Government
    • Taxi: Taxi Driver (TX) licence
    • Rideshare: Small Passenger Vehicle (SP) licence
    • Chauffeur: Small Passenger Vehicle (SP) licence
  • Hold an Adelaide Airport Access Card. Apply for an Access Card with Adelaide Airport here.
  • Hold a minimum $10.00 balance on your Adelaide Airport Ground Transport Driver Hub account to access the designated pickup areas. For instructions on topping up your account balance click here
  • Operate only in the Designated Areas as specified by Adelaide Airport

  • Access Cards CAN NOT be shared with friends and family.
  • Collection of passengers from outside the designated pickup areas is not permitted and may result in fines and/or the permanent cancellation of your Access Card. This includes (but is not limited to)
    • Picking up passengers on the yellow line
    • Picking up passengers from the public dropoff/pickup area
  • You must have money on your Access Card in order to access the Designated Areas
  • Please ensure your details on ParkCharge are up to date

Fees and Charges (all figures inclusive of GST)

A non-refundable $25.00 application fee is charged to register as a driver at Adelaide Airport. This fee does not contribute to your account balance.

The following charges are automatically deducted from your Ground Transport Driver account (all figures inclusive of GST):

  • Account administration fee: $1.50 per month
  • Access fee (taxi/rideshare): $4.50 for each exit from the Designated Areas. $4.00 of the Fee goes to Adelaide Airport and $0.50 funds industry reform initiatives administered by the State Government.
  • Access fee (chauffeur): For each exit from the Designated Chauffeur Area.
    • 0-45 minutes: $5.50
    • 46-60 minutes: $7.00
    • More than 60 minutes: Additional $2.00 for every 10 minutes
    • 120 minutes or more: Terminal Car Park (TCP) Meet & Greet Rates
  • SMS fee: $0.18 per SMS You can view all of your transactions at any time – please log in to Ground Transport Driver account and click on ‘Transactions’

Other Fees:

  • New/replacement Access Card fee: $25.00
  • Account re-activation fee: $10.00

Short fare guidelines:

A fare to a destination without leaving the Airport grounds entitles the driver to return to the chauffeured vehicle (limo) area. The drivers must confirm with the concierge on duty the short fare prior to leaving the Rank.

IKEA, Export Park, Burbridge Business Park, General Aviation Terminal and the Airport Medical Centre are common destinations within the airport.

Harbour Town, Flying Doctor, Medstar, Department of Agriculture, or any location reached from Sir Donald Bradman Drive are not.  There are no exceptions, ever.
