Changes to Taxi and Rideshare Ground Transport Service Fee 2025
What is the Ground Transport Service Fee?
The Ground Transport Service Fee applies to all taxi and rideshare pickups from Adelaide Airport and funds infrastructure, amenities and facilities for drivers and passengers at Adelaide Airport.
This fee is added to the trip fees paid by customers. It does not need to be paid by drivers and is fully recoverable from your customer.
What is changing?
From 3 February 2025, the Adelaide Airport Service Fee for pick-ups from the airport will increase from $3.00 to $4.50 (inclusive of GST). The change is the first change to the Service Fee in more than seven years.
$4.00 from each service fee will go to Adelaide Airport to support ongoing investment in driver amenities like the lay over facilities and industry related operational costs. The remaining $0.50 will fund previously announced industry reform initiatives administered by the State Government.
When is it changing?
The change to the Ground Transport Service Fee will be effective as at 00:01AM on Monday 3 February 2025.
Who pays the Ground Transport Service Fee?
The Ground Transport Service Fee is deducted from the driver’s Adelaide Airport Driver account at the exit from the taxi rank and rideshare pickup areas.
It is automatically added to the trip fare on the driver’s meter or platform application and this fee appears on the customer’s bill.
For taxi drivers, please liaise with your vehicle owner to ensure that meters and compliance stickers are updated prior to the change.
For rideshare drivers, the change will automatically be reflected on your platform’s application by your platform provider.
